Meet Kritika and Josh.
They’re the winners of our free wedding film giveaway.
Of all the entries we received, what made these two stand out?
The reason we launched this contest was because we wanted to challenge you to think differently about wedding films. Kritika and Josh went a big step further– they challenged us to think differently about weddings. After reading their story, and then having a somewhat technologically-challenged Skype session, Tom and I had no doubt that Kritika and Josh were what we’d been looking for. We can’t wait to share their story with you, but we don’t want to reveal too much and spoil the films (that’s right, I said films) we’ll be making with them this year and next year. Let’s just say for now that this is a story about a couple who reclaimed their wedding. I think Kritika said it best in her first email to us:
“Through our initial planning process, Joshua and I really lost touch with what a wedding should be about. We got too caught up with our family and friend’s expectations and got lost in the material aspect of planning, to the point that the wedding planning process was proving to be far less about us, the couple, and more about what everyone else wanted from us. It didn’t feel like our wedding any longer… so we reclaimed our wedding. We want this film to be a reminder to us of what a wedding should truly be about.”
We’re going to be collaborating with Kritika and Josh several times between now and their wedding– and even beyond. What we’re going to create is much more than a wedding film. We think it could become a movement. And we’re certain Kritika and Josh are going to provide inspiration for many other couples to reclaim their own weddings.
We want to thank everyone who entered the contest for their participation and also a big thanks to those who shared it and spread the word. To Kritika and Josh: thank you for inspiring us and congratulations!
