Every year, Boston University hosts something called the Redstone Film Festival. Named for and sponsored by Viacom mogul, Sumner Redstone, the festival screens and awards prizes to the best films made by students of the film programme from the previous year.
It’s a big deal.
To have your film screened as one of the seven finalists is an honor. To place in the top three is outstanding.
To win the whole damn thing?
Well maybe next time you bump into our very own Associate Cinematographer Megan Lovallo, you should ask her what it means to win the Redstones.
Because last night, that’s exactly what she did, for her thesis film Off To The Races.
I hope you’ll join us in congratulating her for this huge achievement. We couldn’t be more proud of her and we know this is the first of many great accolades she’ll receive in her career.
